Grassroots Resources commenced at the coal face of ministry in 1989, in the Anglican Parish of Swan Hill in Victoria
where I was the Parish Priest
.
At that time there were very few resources for small group ministry, and so with the assistance of the Rev'd Brian Haig of 'Sunday Journal' fame, began writing study material for six week studies.
The parish brought Brian (who wrote the studies) over from Perth four times a year to train the leaders in conducting them.
This small group ministry made an immediate impact on parish life and growth, both spiritually and numerically.
Other parishes came to hear of what Swan Hill parish was doing and requested copies of the material we were using
and as
the requests widened, it was decided that I would commence a separate company to facilitate these requests.
As a result - "Grassroots Resources" was formed.
We have now been producing a Lent Study Book for the Anglican Church in Australia for the past 30+ years and
requests for copies continue to come from New Zealand, the USA and the UK.
Our ministry resources have branched out in recent years and has included Church Growth seminars and workshops,
within Australia and overseas.
We also developed web sites for parishes in such a way that no expertise was required from the parish. We have now ceased providing this as most parishes seem to have found ways to undertake this themselves.
We also arrange Spiritual Pilgrimages to Israel and Turkey for parishes, as well as other countries of interest. Click here
Our latest assistance to Anglicans has been through the Covid situation period and although most parishes have returned to regular worship there are still people who feel the need for an alternative style of community care and so "Zoom Church" continues. You can check this out here - Click Here
